More about the films:

  • ‘Maya’ by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury starring Padmapriya is a unique love story where the boy is in love while the girl is ignorant towards his feelings. As the story progresses, the boy approaches her and has conversations on the phone without revealing his identity. Unaware of the fact that he is the same person.
  • ‘Fools for love’ by Dr. Satarupa Sanyal starring Ritabhari Chakraborty is a tribute to Pulitzer Award winner playwright Sam Shepard, the title of the film is same as his play ‘Fool for love’. The film narrates the story of an Anglo Indian couple Allan and Beatrice who live in one of the Christian dominant areas of Mumbai. One night, Beatrice is visited by her husband after almost two years of disappearance. She has carried a baggage of emotions and spent days with emptiness and void without him and feels she should let go and Allan also wishes to be with her. As the story progresses, a night full of passion, anger, romance, emotions and brawls of this couple is showcased. It is a bleak, poetic and surreal love story yet real just like a Shepard’s play.
  • ‘The Last Chapter’ by Raj Chaudhary, starring KK Menon is the story of a character- Dr. Vinayak Satya, a well-known academic, activist, writer and a champion of women’s related issues who has been awarded the Padma Shri. He posts a live blog on his inability to receive the award and the reason turns out to be in the last chapter of the book he is writing. A flashback sequence showcases incidents from his life, beginning from an innocuous research for a book turns out to be narrative of exploitation, accidental incest and revenge. The film is produced by Lara Dutta.
