Welding consumable market is expected to grow at a CAGR 10-11% over the next five years


The Welding industry in India has almost Rs. 4000 Crore market comprising of Welding consumables & Welding equipments. Welding consumable market is expected to grow at a CAGR 10-11% over the next five years from Rs. 2800 Crore to Rs.4250 Crore. On the other hand Welding equipment industry is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6-7% over the next five years from Rs.1150 Crore to Rs.1507 Crore.

The National Welding Seminar, 2016 was  inaugurated at Science city auditorium in the presence of Mr. David McQuaid, President, American Welding Society, USA, the biggest Welding Society of the world, Mr. G .K. Pillai, Managing Director & CEO, Walchandnagar Industries Limited, Pune, Mr. Neeraj Kant, Managing Director, Indian Steel & Wire Products(ISWP) Jamshedpur, Dr. Arun Kumar Bhaduri, Director, IGCAR(Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research), Professor Satish K. Kailas, IISc. Bangalore, Prof Amitava De, IIT, Mumbai, Mr. R. Srinivasan President, IIW-India. After a gap of seven years The National Welding Seminar, 2016 is taking place in Kolkata as a part of the celebration of Golden Jubilee Year of IIW in 2016.

Other dignitaries who were present in the function were Professor P. K. Ghosh, Director, IIT Roorkee, Mr. Abby Joseph, Managing Director, Voestalpine Bohler, Mr. Rashmiranjan Mohapatra, Managing Director, Kemppi India, Mr. Gautam Banerjee, Managing Director, Kaiyuan India etc. A concurrent International Welding Technology Exhibition has also been inaugurated by Shri Sutanu Ghosh, President, Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) in the presence of other eminent personalities. The exhibition will continue till 17th December, 2016(10AM-6:00PM everyday & ENTRY IS FREE). Exhibitors from USA, Japan, Germany, and China have participated here.
