It was like an equation- 10 months of dedicated hard work & preparation = 2 days of Electrifying Energy , 2 days of Celebration, 2 days of awesomeness, 2 days of Life-changing divine experience, 2 days full of madness & craze for being fit & healthy. And those two days – 25th & 26th November held at the Science City ground just flew by leaving back 1000s of moments to cherish & proud of.
The City of Joy was simply enthusiastic about Fitness & Wellness over the entire week ending with the Grand Finale of the biggest fitness & wellness festival of Eastern India – The Fit Expo 2017, the only show in Kolkata of its kind with such magnanimity. With over 16000 footfalls on those two days, over 1400 competition participants and cash prizes worth Rs. 10 lacs had been handed over to the winners, over 80 exhibitor brands lining up at the show – The Fit Expo 2017 had been truly a spectacular event.
The venue of The Fit Expo 2017 was divided into 5 AC hals, where Hall 1 was dedicated for B2B with big fitness equipment, apparels, gadgets as well as a business lounge for B2B deals. Hall 2 was inter – connected with Hall 1 which housed the best of fitness food supplement & snacks brands & top fitness studio chains with an open stage for talent showcases & performances by athletes of different disciplines, a separate martial arts arena & a separate MMA Championship zone with an imported cage. The 3rd Hall was inter – linked with Hall 2 & the stage installed there hosted the inauguration program as well as all prestigious body shows & launching of wrestling league – apart from a dedicated Powerlifting zone & wellness brands displaying their key products. Hall 4 was fully dedicated as a Knowledge center – Seminar zone, with some sports management companies & Sports & amusement equipment sellers displaying their key products. Last but not the least, Hall 5 was a dedicated food court with LED screens installed everywhere showing live streaming of activities happening at Hall 2 & 3. The Outdoor activity zone was dedicated for Strongman, Arm Wrestling & Adventure Sports activities including cycling, Skateboarding & Parkour.
The Fit Expo 2017 kicked off on 25th November morning with a traditional tandav dance – which had been an amalgamation of fitness dance & martial arts – by the karate brother duo Shibayan & Shyamantak Ganguly, followed by a lamp lighting ceremony with the biggest names of world fitness like Max Philisaire, Jaco De bruyn, Daniel Wynes, Harry Sandhu, Kaizzad Capadia, Natasha Clarke, Sonali Swamy, Shweta Rathore, Surgey Rudnev, Dr. Chirag Shetty, Aminder Singh, Sucheta Pal, Actress Paayel Sarkar & others flanked with the Chief Convener of The Fit Expo 2017, Mr. Gagan Sachdev. It was a typical traditional Bengali ambience with dhaak dhunuchi dance & dhaaki team mesmerizing with the background music in a typical Durga Puja essence.
Both the days were packed with power talks by the fitness & health experts, workshops & demonstrations on Fitness Food Fiesta, numerous national level championships on various Martial Arts including MMA in Cage, Powerlifting, Strongman, Bodybuilding & Sports Physique (both Male & Female), Crossfit, Arm Wrestling, Adventure Sports, Cycling with cycle stunts and the passionate participants to top it all. The mouthwatering food court – had some content or the other for the mass as well as the class. Huge numbers of goodies & gifts were distributed amongst the audience by celebrities, exhibitors as well as organizers – making the festival memorable & much awaited for the next year.
