Kolkata: Sonalika the second largest tractor brand exported from India, is now looking to enter an unlikely market for an Indian manufacturer, China.China is world’s second largest tractor markets with 4 lakh units of annual sales (30 HP-100 HP). Sonalika’s market share in exports for the first quarter is 13.7 percent which was 13 percent last year in the same period. When it comes to the domestic market, the company has sold 18,725 tractors as compared to 17,689 tractors of same period last year. In West Bengal, it has sold 819 units in this quarter witnessing a growth of 45 percent in the state. The company has recorded a sales growth of 5.9 percent in domestic market. And 0.7 percent growth in market share in exports.
It has unveiled new technologically advanced DI 750 III Rx with bigger tyre size of 16.9X28. The technology used in the tractor helps produce more power at even lower RPM. This along with greater load carrying capacity due to bigger tyre size helps the farmer to achieve more work output. The company believes that such technological advancement is key to company’s success in important markets like West Bengal.
Currently, Sonalika ITL’s tractors of 35 HP – 60 HP range are mostly sold in West Bengal and company is market leader in >50 HP segment.
