NSE organises first Tech Conclave to address the new age tech entrepreneurs

National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. (NSE), India’s leading stock exchange, addressed the nationwide startups including new economy and technology companies by organising the first NSE Tech Conclave in Bengaluru. The objective of the conclave was to create a conducive capital market ecosystem and address the opportunities and challenges that these new-age companies may face in future.

The conclave involved two different panel discussions on the topics ‘Value unlocking: Evaluating Exit Options’ and ‘Going Public in India’ to educate entrepreneurs and Indian start-ups about equity capital raising options, overseas listing and domestic listing and the steps a start-up needs to take before going public in India.

Shri Jayant Sinha, Hon’ble Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Government of India and the Chief Guestsaid “India offers a unique proposition: the Indian consumer wants 80% of Western functionality at 20% of the price. This requires fundamental innovation to cater to the price point that works for the Indian consumer; the reward for such innovation is that India becomes the driver of entrepreneurship for serving the 6 billion people in developing economies. The NSE Tech conclave gives a further boost to this objective.”

Addressing this issue, Shri Vikram Limaye, MD & CEO, NSE said, “NSE Tech Conclave is our attempt to highlight the role that stock exchanges can play as a platform for raising equity capital for the new age companies in the growth stages. We are committed towards providing a robust fund raising ecosystem for these companies for addressing their next phase funding requirements as well as enabling them to unlock their valuation potential in India. NSE Tech Conclave is the beginning of a new relationship between the capital markets and the start-up ecosystem.”

New-age companies with their technological capabilities and innovative ideas are all set to transforming the Indian economy and we are committed to partnering them in their growth journey added Mr Limaye.

Shri C. B. Bhave, Former Chairman, SEBI, was the Guest of Honour on this occasion. The conclave was also attended by dignitaries including Shri. T. V. Mohandas Pai, Co- Founder & Chairperson, Aarin Capital along with the senior leadership team of NSE.
