Karate Champion gets travel assistance for participation in International championship

Hailing from a slum in Kolkata,Karate champion Md Farooque believes that he has the potential to bring more medals for India. Lack of financial support, however, stands in the way. Farooque states that on most occasions, he is forced to ask for supports from his well-wishers to compete in international events. Recently, Al habibi Tour And Travels gave him travel assistance so that he can participate in the upcoming international championship which is to be held in Thailand.

Farooque’s sister Ayesha started learning karate after seeing her elder brother Farooque training under MA Ali. She was the only girl on her team and despite suffering from epilepsy  won a gold medal at the Thai Pichai Youth International tournament.

“We wanted to ensure that our city lad’s  phenomenal talent did not go waste due to a lack of funding.” said Sabrez Alam, Director of Al-Habibi Tour and Travels.

Prof M A Ali , his coach stresses on the need to provide adequate support to talented players like him.”Kolkata  has huge potential, but the lesser-known players are starved of money. If these players aren’t given a push, they will sink”. said Prof M A Ali.
