As part of its #EverydayAbility event series, Firefox Bikesheld a demo game of Blind Football on 1st Dec with Indian Blind Football Federation (IBFF) and Adventures Beyond Barriers Foundation (ABBF). This was organized by Volunteer4India (V4I) and supported by Football Association for the Blind in Bengal (FABB), Kolkata as the local partner.We aim to showcase the sporting talents of the differently-abled and increase the blind footballers’ base for the future. The three-hour event which started at 8am in thePark Street Area, Kolkata saw the participation of volunteers fromSt. Xavier’s college & Vivekanda College, Thakurpukur. In its second edition this financial year, Kolkata event is the fourth #EverydayAbility event from Firefox Bikes after Mumbai, Ahmedabad & Chennai
Speaking on the occasion, Aditya Munjal, CEO of Firefox Bikes said, “Blind football match for the people with visual impairments has created an inspiring story of #EverydayAbility which will drive positive societal perceptions about Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) and to inspire the industry to create more inclusive workplaces. Sheer grit and determination were beautifully displayed in a sport activity which helped us drive the message that PWDs can live & succeed on their own terms.”
He added, “We hope to take it a step further by creating employment opportunities for PWDs at Firefox Bikes.”
