Godrej Interio kick-started the new year by launching centrally located kitchen gallery at Homeland Mall, Ashutosh Mukherjee Road in Kolkata. The kitchen gallery dedicatedly deals with modular kitchen design and fulfillments thereby allowing the retail brand to strengthen connect in the Eastern belt.

Sprawling across 1000 sq ft, the kitchen gallery covers a vast and varied display of modular home storage and kitchens. The brand is tapping into this market aided by its loyal consumer base in West Bengal.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Anil Mathur, COO Godrej Interio said, “Godrej Interio has a strong foothold in the eastern market owing to its huge brand recall and significant customer base in the region. Kolkata, rightly termed as the ‘city of joy’, holds immense potential and through this kitchen gallery we intend to inspire local residents, who are known to enthusiastically celebrate festivals in a larger than life manner. It is a tremendous opportunity for us to tap the retail furniture market and plan new ventures. Our expansion strategy will also involve strengthening of the brand’s presence in Kolkata, which contributes nearly 15% to overall home business revenue. We aim to increase our kitchen business in Kolkata by 50% through new Godrej Interio Kitchen gallery launches catering to this specific market.”

We are going to open around 4 exclusive galleries for Kitchen across West Bengal in this fiscal year to increase our footprint to 9 galleries in the state. In the next two years, we are expecting revenue of Rs. 5 crore from this exclusive kitchen gallery in the city.”

The product range includes Steel Chef, Willow Wok and Cuisine Regale, which is a premium offering from the brand. The product range has been designed keeping in mind the anthropometric data of Indian women. The modular steel kitchen, the steel chef is tailor-made for the Indian style of cooking offering style and convenience. Godrej Interio already has a prominent presence in the Eastern region attributing to a strong network of dealers and 20 Kitchen galleries   in the region.

Additionally, the retail major is aiding in the consolidation of the furniture market which is largely unorganized in India across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities.
