Central paramilitary forces to get trainers for Yoga Day
NEW DELHI: Ahead of the International Yoga Day celebrations next month, the government is planning to appoint yoga trainers in each battalion of central paramilitary forces (CAPFs). As many as 2,000 CAPF jawans will be deployed to participate during the mass yoga demonstration on June 21 at Chandigarh which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to government official, nearly 415 personnel from ITBP, BSF, CRPF, CISF have been trained last year and another batch of 450 will undergo training this year at the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga that functions under Ministry of Ayush. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has also given a nod to publish an e-book for the first time chronicling the role of CAPF in ‘Yoga promotion’.
