Asus launched its standalone store targeting gamers (one that focuses on selling these high spec devices) – Republic of Gamers – in Kolkata .Gaming in India accounts for just 1 per cent of the global market, with 2,000-3,000 such high-end devices being sold every month. The company’s recent foray into the gaming PC segment will also be helping the company reach its targeted sales and pull up its average price.”Gaming is of strategic importance to us as it showcases our ability to innovate. Though it is not a revenue spinner, it is a segment in India which is growing 30% annually,”said Peter Chang, Regional Head (South Asia) and Country Manager (System Business Group), Asus India. It has a 30% market share in the Indian gaming segment.Asus has targeted to open five exclusive gaming zones (shops) this year and will be extending its high-end gaming laptops to over 200 stores.

With an area of about 50 square meters, the gamers can visit the store from every Monday to Sunday between 10.00 to 21.00pm to experience the latest devices, game titles and accessories.
