Kolkata:” Please do it”That was the appeal from Mr.S.P.Choudhury  the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax -1, Kolkata.to  the Press. The Press conference organised by The Government Of India Ministry of Finance Department Of Revenue in association with IJMA(Indian Jute Manufacturers Association)  was held t at the Bengal Chember Of Commerce And Industry, Kolkata on the income disclosure scheme 2016. , whereby any person, being an Indian citizen can declare undisclosed income or asset pertaining to Financial Year 2015-16 or earlier, by paying a combined amount of tax, surcharge and penalty of 45% of the Income declared under the scheme. The declaration can be made online or in print form to the jurisdictional Principal Commissioner of Income Tax and comes with certain immunities. It is open from 1.6.2016 and closes on 30.9.2016.

Assurance , friendship and holding hands were the promise from the Income tax department towards public.The main concern of this seminar was simple i.e. there are lots of apprehension in public  mind related to the  undisclosed wealth and the department has promised to keep it secret as they are not considering these undisclosed money as ” black” but they don’t mind to call it “grey” as this money gets mingled  with white money.The commissioner assured us by saying ” aap ke biwi ko bhi pta nahi chalega” . He also said this wealth will be used for the benefit of our country.

 

The additional commissioner Mr.Sudipta Guha was also present in the programme.
