All India Minority Forum calls for peace, unity on Eid’l Adha

Eid Al Adha, or the ‘festival of sacrifice’, marks the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son out of faith in Allah. In commemoration of the event, Muslims sacrifice animals and divide it into three parts – the family retains one-third of the share; another third is given to relatives, friends, and neighbours; and the remaining third is given to the poor and needy.

Recently, All India Minority Forum organised a press meet regarding the Eid Al Adha.All the speakers said that religious occasions helped in cementing the bonds of love and brotherhood among different sections of society.Spiritual leaders have urged people to celebrate the festival in a simple manner.

President of the All-India Minority Forum Idris Ali said the spirit of sacrifice of Eid-ul-Adha is a unique example of showing respect and love to almighty Allah.In his speech Shafique Qasmi, Imam of Nakhoda Masjid  explained the true meaning behind the celebration of Eid-ul-Adha and the sacrifice Abraham made for God’s pleasure He added “West Bengal is the only state in the country which is peaceful.” Sk Golam Rabbani, National President (Auqaf)  said Eid-ul-Azha gives us message of peace, happiness, fraternity and selfless sacrifice for humanity.We always pray for peace and tranquility in the state. May Allah bless all the people of the state and maintains brotherhood among all of them.

Realizing the essence of sacrifice (Eid-ul-Azha), we all have to pave the way to establish peace, harmony and welfare in society.
